Good dental care is important not only for your pet's oral health but poor dental hygiene can also lead to more serious health issues, such as kidney and heart disease. Preventative care should begin when the pet is young to keep the teeth and gums as healthy as possible.

The most common infectious diseases can be prevented by routine vaccination. Routinely vaccinating your pet is often cheaper than paying for treating your sick pet later, and reduces virus transmission in the pet population. Typically, feline rabies and canine bordetella (kennel cough), lyme and leptospirosis are given once yearly. Canine Distemper-Parvo rabies and feline FVRCP (upper-respiratory) and feline leukemia vaccines are given once every three years. We also offer dental vaccines and can tailor your pet's vaccine schedule to the individual pet based on his/her risk of exposure.

At St. Francis we will love and care for your pets like our own. We understand and respect the special relationship that exists between you and your furry family member. You can go on vacation knowing that we will tend to all of your pet's needs. Because our boarding facility is owned and operated by a veterinarian, you can be sure your pet's health and cleanliness are top priorities. Pets are walked in a grassy fenced-in area behind the clinic three times a day and fed according to your specifications. If your pet is on medication, we will make sure it gets administered on schedule.

While we do not offer breed specific haircuts, we will provide your pet with a whole body trim that we call a "comfort clip". It provides your pet with a short protective coat that minimizes matting and shedding. It also helps soothe irritating skin problems and promotes healing.

Microchiping is highly advised in case your pet is lost or stollen. It is a permanent form of identification. Implanting a microchip is as easy as a quick injection and is no more painful than a vaccination shot. We register your information for you and your coverage starts immediatly. If your pet is already microchiped we can scan them for the number and make sure that you are enrolled and that your registration information is accurate and up-to-date.
